Hi Tammy, nice to meet you. Could you please introduce yourself and your team?
Hi, I’m Tammy. I am the Senior Manager of the ICQA (Inventory Control Quality Assurance) team for the TAO1 Fulfillment Center (FC) at Coupang Taiwan. I first joined Coupang Taiwan in November 2021 as an Inventory Manager. Back then I managed the operations of the Coupang Taiwan dark store in Taipei to ensure fast delivery to our customers. In 2022, I evolved to the role of Taoyuan FC Area Manager. In that role, I was mainly responsible for the returns of products. Towards the end of 2022, I became partly involved with ICQA and by April 2023, I had shifted fully into that team, which I am now the manager of.
The ICQA team oversees the Inventory Control and Quality Assurance of all products that are in the FCs. This is done with onsite verification to ensure that products are high quality, and through the feedback of clients, we make improvements to provide them with the best experience.
We’re curious to hear more about your journey to Coupang. What attracted you the most?
My previous career experiences are in brick-and-mortar business. Back in 2021, when Coupang had just started its operations in Taiwan, I was at a point in my career where I wanted to change industry and embrace new challenges, so I joined Coupang. Coupang’s goal to deliver products to customers with efficiency and at rocket speed is what sparked my interest.
Can you tell us how Coupang or your team culture and events have helped you reach your full potential?
At Coupang, we have Leadership Principles, and the ones that inspire me every day are “Wow the Customer” and “Demand Excellence.” They drive what I do on a daily basis and that’s why I see great potential in my work. There are always new challenges that force us to think in order to drive excellence and wow our customers.
Within my team, we also have regular team events, we share meals together. We recently have a new Director from Iran that joined our team, which has been an opportunity to learn and share our cultures and backgrounds, offering us new ideas and refreshing perspectives.
Do you have any goals or plans for your career in the short, mid or long-term?
This April, I became the manager overseeing the entire ICQA department for TAO1. I hope our team will grow and become even better at optimizing procedures and learnings. I see a positive potential in the future for the ICQA team and Coupang in Taiwan.
I look forward to helping the ICQA team learn and be equipped with the same capabilities and experiences that I got to learn from in the past 4 years, so that we can become stronger together as a team.
What are you looking forward to the most with Coupang?
At Coupang, our team is expanding. We are hiring more members to join us in our goal to provide an even better customer experience. This will enable us to optimize procedures, nurture collaboration, and exchange ideas for new projects to come.
