Nice to meet you Hana. Would you please introduce yourself.
Hi, my name is Hana and I joined CPLB (Coupang Private Label Brands) in March 2021, as a Finance Manager.
How would you describe your 2021 at CPLB in one sentence?
It was quite a challenge adapting to a new environment, but it was an enjoyable year thanks to my colleagues and boss who were all very welcoming.
What do you think makes CPLB special?
At CPLB, we have a horizontal company structure and multiple foreign colleagues, so it is overall an international environment. The physical location of our office is in Seoul, but sometimes it feels like I’m working in another country overseas. Some colleagues came here as expats, and it is their first time living in Korea. They often ask Korean colleagues about Korean culture or lifestyle, so it is quite interesting to think about these things which I have always taken for granted, from another perspective.
What is your favorite item on your work desk right now?
I would say it’s all the various kinds of blending tea. I rarely drink coffee since I want to limit my caffeine intake, so tea is the energizer for me.
What is one piece of advice you have for all fellow co-workers who are working from home nowadays?
I would suggest preparing healthy snacks in advance and munching on them throughout the day. Normally, I eat fruits and bread so that I can focus on my work once I’m energized. Food is the energy of life for everyone! Additionally, you should always enjoy a walk outside during your lunch time to get some fresh air.
What is the leadership principle that you apply the most to your daily work?
It would say it’s “Company-wide perspective”. I’m part of the Finance team and I work with multiple teams across departments, so I continuously think about what the most efficient ways for us to perform our tasks are and I constantly ask myself what can I do to help the team.
