Hi everyone, my name is Frankie. I am a Key Brand Buyer for supplementary products. My mission is to help project brands gain the most profit working with Coupang. We are the first line of communication for companies working with Coupang.
We’re curious to hear more about your journey to Coupang. What attracted you the most?
E-commerce market penetration rate in Taiwan is still relatively low compared to other markets. But this also means that there is still a lot of room for growth for e-commerce in Taiwan.
I am excited that I’m experiencing something completely different from what I used to do in my career. Before Coupang, for the past 10 years, I'd been the e-commerce Sales Manager for Beauty & Home and Personal Care. I was responsible for working with buyers from non-local e-commerce platforms. I never knew one day the table would turn.
What capabilities are essential for Coupang's Brand Management Team?
I was worried at first that I wouldn't be used to the work processes as a buyer because it's not the same with my previous job. However, I realized that there are actually many similarities, such as new vendor development skills, business negotiation skills, and market structure analysis. The work here is also based on all of these abilities. Another crucial part is the mindset of accepting changes. As Coupang is still in the stage of rapid growth, we are flexible to complete new tasks and face new changes.

What is it like to work with a foreign leader/manager?
There are many colleagues and leaders from around the world in the Coupang 101 office. I think people from different countries have very different ways of thinking and outlooks on life. Overall, I feel that people here are more objective and optimistic. But as we share the same goals, we aim for the same result. Here, I get to see how foreigners think and have a more diversified brainstorming experience.
What are you looking forward to the most with Coupang?
It has to do with two different things. First, Taiwan's e-commerce penetration rate is still growing, Taiwan’s e-commerce market has the potential for rapid growth in the future. Second, Coupang is the only e-commerce company here with both cross-border and local e-commerce resources. This has never been seen in Taiwan. I'm looking forward to taking advantage of these two opportunities and contributing my expertise at Coupang. I look forward to seeing the changes in the e-commerce scene in Taiwan.
