Meet Ben — Outbound Manager at Coupang Taiwan FCs

Hi Ben, could you please introduce yourself and your team.   

Hi, I’m Ben. I’m an Outbound Manager for our TAO1 Fulfillment Center (FC) here in Taiwan. I joined Coupang back in 2022 when operations had just launched. At the time, I supported the Taipei dark store delivery. When the TAO1 FC launched, I applied to join the teams there. After 3 months, I became involved with Outbound (OB). 

  

Can you share your career background?  

Before joining Coupang, I worked mainly in the clothing industry in a people management position. My previous experiences being mainly within offline retail. When Coupang launched in Taiwan, I saw it as an opportunity to grow my career within the online e-commerce field, and I was excited. 

  

Can you tell us how Coupang or the OB team culture and events have helped you reach your full potential?  

The OB team ensures that our customers receive their orders on time with the quickest delivery for packages and provides them with the best customer experience possible. To make this happen, our team has to be collaborative with other teams in the FC and our team members’ cooperation with each other is essential. Since OB oversees the end-to-end process from picking to packing, we need to have seamless collaboration within to reach our goals in a timely manner. My role, as a manager, is to assist the team and help them get a better understanding and better communication between each other to reach our goals.  

In our FCs, all teams strive towards a common goal to ‘Wow the Customer.’ We actively collaborate with the Inbound (IB) and Inventory Control Quality Assurance (ICQA) teams to achieve it. By working seamlessly with each other, we are able to deliver results all year round, even during busier times such as the 11/11 promotion (Taiwan’s Black Friday) and that experience is valuable. 

 

What has been the biggest change since you’ve joined Coupang FC? Do you think Coupang has also gone through a change? 

Personally, since I’ve joined Coupang, I feel that my work has had a direct impact on society by enabling fast delivery of products and a convenient service for our customers. I can find my value in my work by achieving this and always striving to wow our customers. When I first joined, no one really knew Coupang as a company and what we do. Now they know and when I mention my workplace, people are impressed.  

  

Lastly, any message you’d like to convey to the job seekers wanting to apply to Coupang?
