Could you introduce yourself and your team?
My name is Amit Tikoo, and I am part of Global Operations Technology at Coupang. I oversee multiple teams focused on building scalable infrastructure for our Fulfillment Centers (FCs), ensuring operational excellence in every aspect. My team is at the forefront of re-architecting critical systems like our Warehouse Management System (WMS) to support Coupang’s ever-expanding scale. We are leveraging cutting-edge technologies to ensure our systems are not only scalable but also highly resilient and responsive to business needs.
What aspects of your role are you most excited about professionally?
What excites me the most is the freedom to experiment and adopt modern, innovative architectures to solve complex problems at scale. Coupang’s engineering culture encourages exploring technologies for better separation of concerns, and event-driven systems for real-time processing. This openness to innovation allows us to push boundaries and create systems that are future-proof. Additionally, Coupang’s leadership actively supports an engineering-driven approach, enabling us to make key architectural decisions with minimal procedural constraints, which fosters both creativity and ownership.
