As global commerce and talent mobility continue to accelerate, many professionals are taking a fresh look at their long-term career paths. Nick, who previously built experience in the international commerce, was one of them. Upon returning to Taiwan and reassessing his professional goals, he noticed Coupang’s rapid growth in the market. Beyond its U.S. technology company and its culture, it was Coupang’s strong customer-first mindset that resonated most with him. “When I saw how deeply Coupang is committed to its customers, I knew I wanted to be part of it,” Nick shared.
With more than a year as a Senior Brand Management Specialist at Coupang, Nick has driven in-depth collaborations with multiple brands, turning strategic discussions into products that customers can seamlessly purchase through the Coupang app. Watching ideas progress from meetings to real offerings on Coupang app gives him a strong sense of accomplishment. Beyond the workplace, he also sees Coupang’s growing influence in everyday life. In his neighborhood, nearly half of the packages delivered to residents come from Coupang. “The work we do makes it possible for people to place an order with just a few taps and have it delivered to their door as soon as the next day,” he said.
As a global company, Coupang offers a multicultural environment that has pushed Nick to grow in new ways. When he first joined, adapting to the new communication style took time. “In Taiwan, people tend to be more reserved,” Nick explained. “Here, whether internally or with partners, people communicate openly and clearly about what they need.”
The fast-moving, results-driven environment has strengthened his problem-solving skills and given him daily opportunities to collaborate with colleagues from around the world. “Working alongside top talent from different countries has broadened my perspective and how I approach challenges.”
Working closely with brands and suppliers, Nick highlights two key strengths: AI technology and Rocket Delivery.
In the past, preparing a product listing could take up to a week. With AI and large language models, product features, ingredients, compliance text, and high-search keywords can now be generated far more efficiently. Combined with Rocket Delivery, which enables WOW members to receive orders as early as the next day after their order, brands can clearly experience Coupang’s speed, scale, and technological capabilities.
For professionals considering a career at Coupang, Nick believes the impact goes far beyond job skills.
“The way I think and approach problems has changed significantly,” he shared. “Without Coupang, my life would look very different today.” Looking ahead, he is excited about Coupang’s continued growth in Taiwan and hopes it will play an even greater role in supporting and simplifying everyday life for consumers.
