Who We Are?
Coupang is reimagining the shopping experience for millions of customers by making commerce faster, simpler, and more reliable. Our marketplace business plays a critical role in expanding selection, improving customer choice, and enabling sellers of all sizes to grow through Coupang’s platform.
We are looking for a Senior Staff Technical Program Manager to lead high-impact programs across Coupang’s Marketplace Selling Partner APIs. This role will work closely with large sellers, ERP integrators, product managers, engineering teams, operations, and business stakeholders to scale marketplace selection while improving catalog quality and completeness.
Role Overview
As a Senior Staff TPM, you will drive strategic programs that help large sellers and ERP integration partners connect to Coupang more effectively through APIs. Your primary focus will be increasing marketplace selection and improving the quality of product catalog data, including reducing missing or incomplete catalog attributes.
You will own complex, cross-functional initiatives from strategy through execution, translating business goals into technical programs and ensuring that sellers, integrators, and internal teams have the capabilities, documentation, tooling, and operational processes needed to succeed.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead large-scale technical programs for Coupang Marketplace Selling Partner APIs, focused on seller onboarding, catalog integration, selection growth, and catalog quality improvement.
- Partner directly with large sellers and ERP integrators to understand integration needs, remove technical blockers, and improve API adoption.
- Drive programs that increase marketplace selection while ensuring products are listed with complete, accurate, and high-quality catalog attributes.
- Work with product and engineering teams to define API requirements, prioritize roadmap items, and improve integration workflows for sellers and third-party integrators.
- Identify gaps in catalog attribute coverage, data quality, validation rules, error handling, and API usability, then lead initiatives to close those gaps.
- Establish metrics, mechanisms, and reporting to track selection growth, catalog completeness, integration success rates, API adoption, and seller experience.
- Coordinate across engineering, product, marketplace business teams, operations, legal, compliance, and partner-facing teams to deliver scalable solutions.
- Develop operating mechanisms for launch readiness, partner escalation management, API change management, and post-launch performance tracking.
- Represent the needs of large sellers and ERP partners in technical roadmap discussions.
- Communicate program strategy, risks, tradeoffs, and progress clearly to senior leadership.
Basic Qualifications
- Significant experience in technical program management, product management, engineering management, or a related technical leadership role.
- Experience leading complex, cross-functional programs involving APIs, platform products, enterprise integrations, or developer-facing systems.
- Strong understanding of marketplace, e-commerce, catalog, seller platform, or retail technology domains.
- Experience working with external partners, enterprise customers, system integrators, ERP providers, or large-scale API consumers.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business objectives into technical requirements and execution plans.
- Strong program management skills, including roadmap planning, dependency management, risk mitigation, stakeholder alignment, and executive communication.
- Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments and drive clarity across technical and business teams.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work from Seoul, South Korea.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with marketplace seller APIs, catalog ingestion, product listing workflows, item data quality, taxonomy, or attribute completeness.
- Experience working with ERP systems, system integrators, middleware platforms, or large seller integrations.
- Familiarity with API design principles, developer experience, integration testing, error handling, and API documentation.
- Experience defining and driving metrics related to selection growth, catalog quality, API adoption, and partner success.
- Korean language proficiency or experience working with Korean sellers, partners, or local market teams.
- Experience operating at Senior Staff, Principal, or equivalent level in a large-scale technology organization.
What Success Looks Like
In this role, success means that more large sellers and ERP partners can integrate with Coupang efficiently, onboard more selection at scale, and provide complete, high-quality catalog data. You will help reduce friction in the seller integration journey, improve marketplace catalog completeness, and build the mechanisms needed for long-term API platform growth.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a senior technical leader who can move comfortably between business strategy, partner engagement, and deep technical execution. You understand how APIs enable platform scale, how catalog quality affects customer experience, and how to align many teams around measurable marketplace outcomes. You are comfortable influencing senior stakeholders, diving into technical details, and working directly with external partners to solve hard problems.
