Director of Product Management - Internal Payroll Systems

Role Overview

Coupang is seeking a strategic, results-driven Product Management professional to lead our internal payroll product portfolios. In this critical leadership role, you will define the vision, strategy, and execution of the platforms our workforce and finance teams rely on globally. You will bridge the gap between business operations and engineering, driving transformation to build highly scalable, secure, and automated internal systems.

This role focuses on Workforce (Payroll) Systems, and internal operational platforms, driving efficiency through automation, scalable architecture, and strong product thinking.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Roadmap: Define and champion a long-term product vision and roadmap for internal payroll processing, taxation, core accounting, and financial planning systems.
  • Transformation: Identify opportunities to automate, standardize, and simplify complex payroll workflows to reduce manual overhead and improve operational efficiency.
  • Product Lifecycle Management: Oversee the end-to-end execution of product development, from ideation and requirements definition to testing, launch, and continuous optimization.
  • Data-Driven Culture: Establish KPIs and metrics for internal product success, measuring adoption, system reliability, processing accuracy, and user satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years in Product Management, with at least 5+ years specializing in enterprise financial systems, HRIS, or payroll platforms.
  • Strong communication and influence skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders; able to align teams around clear priorities.
  • Experience building products that interface with ERPs (e.g., SAP, Oracle) or modern fintech/HR SaaS stack.
  • Experience defining product roadmaps, resourcing needs to achieve goals and effectively advocating for those
  • Demonstrated strength in data-driven decision making, experimentation, and KPI ownership in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong communication and influence skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders; able to align teams around clear priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex trade-offs among time, cost, reliability, and customer experience.
  • Strong software engineering and technology understanding to influence engineering and business stake holders on product solutioning and product roadmap.

Our Hybrid work model:

Coupang hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration that acts a catalyst to enrich the experience of employees. Employees are required to work at least 3 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 2 days a week, depending on the role requirement. Some businesses may require more time in office due to nature of work.
