Description:

In this role you will be responsible for the global network of fulfillment centers, while also ensuring a safe environment with scalable processes and operations.

Site Leaders are responsible for all safety, budgetary, people development and operations objectives for an entire fulfillment center. Responsibilities include managing and leading a team of Operations and Area Managers, coaching and mentoring the team to ensure performance objectives are met, building positive employee relations and building leadership bench strength within the Fulfillment Center. This position requires a results-oriented, high-energy, dynamic individual with both stamina and mental quickness to be able to work and thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth Distribution Center. Excellent communication skills with all levels of management and staff will be essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Hire and develop site leaders, safety personnel, and ICQA teams to ensure sustainable and best in class fulfillment operations.
  • Build and maintain the fulfillment center topology to support the growth of Coupang.
  • Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Lead material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation; advising management on needed actions.
  • Control inventory levels and accuracy; reconciling with data storage system.
  • Ensure the personal safety and safe working environment of staff.
  • Maintain high quality condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts, inspecting equipment, issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
  • Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
  • Maintains warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Transportation Logistics, or related field.
  • 10+ years of direct management experience, including a salaried workforce, in a manufacturing, production or distribution environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in supply chain operations leading and owning cross-functional programs.
  • Experience with performance metrics, process improvement and Lean techniques.
  • Experience with the full staffing life cycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions and terminations.
  • High attention to detail including proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute methodically, in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation is desired.
  • Ability to clearly communicate data insights to others.
  • Candidates must be flexible to work based on business demands, and if needed during weekends or holidays.
