Role Overview

As a senior leader, you will be responsible for improving Coupang's pricing operations that include processes for price determination, price monitoring and adjustments, market research and others. Your initiatives will include execution of pricing policy reviews, process improvement programs, development of quality frameworks, execution of operational audits, identification of opportunities for process automation and tooling enhancements. You will collect various data and collaborate with product, operational, engineering, catalog management and business teams within Coupang to find the fastest and most appropriate solutions for projects and ultimately improve consumer shopping experience.

What You Will Do
  • Execute pricing policy reviews in collaboration with product, business and operational partners, including delivery of analysis supporting policy changes, policy documentation, implementation of policy changes with operational, product and engineering teams
  • Execute operational audits to identify areas of incompliance with pricing policies, introduce corrective actions to operational processes and pricing systems to address discovered issues
  • Review and evaluate changes to operational procedures (SOPs) to ensure efficiency of operational processes and compliance with pricing policies
  • Define quality assurance frameworks and deliver programs to improve quality metrics related to outcomes generated by pricing processes
  • Collaborate with product, operational, engineering, business teams to establish and prioritize operational initiatives and prioritize them
  • Establish and manage a team of operational experts to support the organization's operational objectives
Basic Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in roles related to operations, internal audits, assurance or policy-related work for online platforms, incl. delivery of audits, process improvement programs, responsibility for operational processes.
  • Knowledge of English and Korean - the role will work with English-speaking senior leadership and partners.
  • Strong skills in managing projects from inception to completion, with demonstrated ability to lead multiple teams to deliver results within time constraints and with strong focus on accuracy and details.
  • Experience in conducting hands-on deep dives into issues, identifying root causes, and proposing practical solutions; ability to synthesize information quickly, extract key insights, and present insights to director-level stakeholders or higher.
  • Demonstrated top-class people management skills, ability to mentor and guide team members, experience of building teams while fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Experience in leading change initiatives and fostering a culture of continuous improvement across many teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in the pricing domain in the e-commerce environment, understanding of financial principles related to pricing strategies.
  • Experience in policy development for online platforms, SOP definition, defects detection, process tuning with automation.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau) to drive pricing decisions and measure the impact of pricing strategies.
  • Knowledge of methodologies like Lean and Six Sigma to drive efficiency in pricing operations.

Document Return Policy

  • This notification is given pursuant to Article 11 (6) of the Fair Hiring Procedure Act.
