Job Summary:
As the Head of Sales, Marketplace Business, you will be responsible for managing the sales team (and Managers) to rapidly grow our seller network in Taiwan. This role offers a unique opportunity to build and lead a high-performing sales team that drives revenue growth through best-in-class seller experiences. You will play a critical role in shaping the future of Coupang’s marketplace business in Taiwan.
What You Will Do:
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to foster a high-performance culture in a high-growth phase managing a sales team and managers.
- Establish clear team objectives and ensure all members understand their roles in achieving targets.
- Regularly assess team performance, offer constructive feedback, and implement strategies for continuous improvement and high performance.
- Identify skill gaps within the team and coordinate training sessions to enhance competencies and professional growth.
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring processes run smoothly, efficiently, and align with organizational standards and goals.
- Define revenue targets, monitor key performance indicators, and implement strategies to drive growth.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with 3P sellers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to drive mutual growth and customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute marketplace projects effectively.
- Leverage data insights to inform business decisions, improve processes, and optimize team performance.
- Align seller operations with the company’s customer-first (wow the customer) approach.
Essential Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in e-commerce, marketplace management, advertising, or related industries, with a proven track record leading a new business sales/growth function.
- Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing sales teams including managers of team members (essential).
- An understanding of e-commerce ecosystems, including seller dynamics and an ability to leverage this knowledge for strategic growth.
- Proven ability to negotiate and foster long-term partnerships (ideally with 3P sellers), suppliers, and other stakeholders, driving mutual growth and customer satisfaction.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams to execute projects effectively.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to leverage data insights to inform business decisions, improve processes, and optimize team performance.
- A strong commitment to delivering exceptional results for customers, aligning operations with the company’s customer-first (wow the customer) approach.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Mandarin language not mandatory but an advantage.
