Role Overview
As the Director of Play Excellence, you will be at the intersection of Coupang Play’s Business, Operation, and Tech execution. Your goal will be to ensure that our complex cross-domain initiatives are rolled out and implemented successfully, at a pace that propels the next phase of Coupang Play’s growth. You will dive-deep to find root causes, set unreasonable goals, negotiate with various stakeholders, and deliver.
You will be expected to lead new initiatives, with no legacy products. You will have to Learn Voraciously and Move with Urgency to ship out new business models and features. These may include initiatives in Automation, Content Delivery, Live Events, Monetization, or a completely fresh, industry-shaping idea.
In this role, you must be comfortable with analyzing data, extracting insights, setting quantifiable goals, tracking projects, allocating resources, understanding financial impact, and obsessing over our Customer experience. No problem should bypass your surveillance. You will determine how excellent our execution will be.
What You Will Do
- Provide a clear vision for our business and build strategic relationships with internal / external stakeholders based on thorough understanding of their interests.
- Drive innovation and operational excellence to launch new products, features, or offerings, under aggressive time constraints.
- Set quantifiable goals to optimize our business operations.
- Decode strategies into quantitative, especially financial, factors to identify business opportunities and risks
- Partner with other leaders across the organization in developing programs and processes.
- Follow up on actionable findings and drive execution through strict KPI-management.
- Lead and guide project team members in planning, designing, and executing end-to-end programs and processes.
Basic Qualifications
- 10+ years of relevant work experience in Operations support program and managing an Operations enablement / Operational Excellence function.
- Solid experience initiating and leading analytical projects, taking a structured approach to solving complex business problems.
- Ability to build complex financial models to forecast future impacts on business and to provide strategic insights to cross-functional team leaders
- Ability to provide hands-on leadership to solve complex problems and successfully handle end-to-end aspects of our business.
- Demonstrated ability to build, execute, and scale innovative solutions.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Obsessive attention to detail.
- Ability to manage time and multiple priorities with many internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to influence the organization with strong and verifiable analytical skills.
- Outstanding fluency in Korean and English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in video or other media streaming.
- Strong understanding of content streaming technology.
- Experience in leading Machine Learning projects.

Document Return Policy
- This notification is given pursuant to Article 11 (6) of the Fair Hiring Procedure Act.
