Description:
Director, Process Innovation in Coupang is responsible for process excellence, drive optimization, solving key challenges in service design, industrial engineering, and fulfillment management. You will work with functions across the organization, including technology, transportation, operations, and customer service, to drive a great customer experience for our program. You will drive, adopt and change throughout the business, while also understanding and role modelling the importance of the front-line business and teams.
The successful candidate will approach innovation thinking outside the box and deepen the network to come up with a solution. He or she will work with leaders across global operations, technology teams, and senior leadership to manage projects, drive continuous improvement, and enhance performance. The candidates must demonstrate a superior track record for building and leading teams, strategic thinking, and success in all phases of business and team development.
Key responsibilities:
- Driving standardization of operational procedures and partnering with operations and technology partners to build structures in areas of ambiguity, to increase consistency and reliability of performance.
- Hiring, coaching, and developing a team to develop their operational and leadership skills while actively developing the future leadership pipeline.
- Collaborate extensively with other operational departments/leaders on various projects, and provide expert advice to the business, utilizing industry best practice.
- Optimizing Coupang’s supply chain performance, while solving business and operation challenges in Supply Chain.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and product owners to identify opportunities to improve process performance.
Essential Qualifications:
- The successful candidate is a self-starter with extensive senior leadership experience in Process Excellence and Automation gained within a highly operational and technology focused environment.
- MBA; Degree ideally in Engineering; successful industry expertise with solid experience in ecommerce.
- Experience in a senior operational management / product / program or business development role.
- Proven experience in executing technology solutions in an operational business environment.
- Proven experience building and leading teams to launch new services or product
- Experience managing, negotiating, and communicating with internal/external business partners.
- The candidate must be comfortable driving changes across different functional teams, as well as communicating and influencing across all levels of the business.
