Role Overview
Coupang’s Rocket Growth team has the mission to offer Coupang customers the best available selection and the lowest possible price and provide Coupang sellers the utmost convenience of selling.
Rocket Growth is seeking a Staff Frontend Engineer to join us to fulfill our mission. You will be working in a fast-paced environment along with a team of smart and passionate engineers to design and implement various systems to meet the needs of the Rocket Growth business. You will also have direct ownership of new features to improve seller landing experience, onboarding experience as well as the experience for managing listings and inventory. We care about both delighting customers and building high-quality software and are looking for someone with a proven track record of designing and building sophisticated and responsive web applications.
What You Will Do
- Architect efficient and reusable front-end systems that drive complex web applications.
- Provide technical direction to junior engineers in the team
- Deliver innovative applications to grow Rocket-on-Demand user base
- Collaborate with team members that includes Product, Design, UI/UX, Backend and Infrastructure as well as other stakeholders.
Basic Qualifications
- Korean speaker, Korean (working) visa required (Required to Work in Korea)
- 8+ years of professional front end development around the user experience
- Understanding of key design principles.
- Proficiency with JavaScript, HTML, CSS
- Proficiency with modern web development frameworks (React.js, Angular.js, or Vue.js) and related test frameworks
- Extensive experience building interactive web applications using the latest web frameworks and libraries.
- Excellent verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
- Proficient in common UX patterns
- Experience building web applications supporting multiple languages
- Experience influencing software engineering best practices within your team
- Hands-on expertise in many disparate technologies, ranging from front-end user interfaces to back-end data storage and APIs in-between.
- Experience working backwards from the customer to deliver innovative and simple solutions
