Coupang Play is Coupang’s OTT video streaming service which is available exclusively for Coupang’s Wow membership subscribers.  This role will be dedicated to providing all aspects of legal support for the Coupang Play business unit, with an emphasis on original content production, content licensing, sports, and live events, as well as product and app development, operations, technology, performance marketing, and all associated legal and regulatory compliance requirements. 쿠팡플레이(Coupang Play)는 쿠팡의 와우 회원 전용 OTT 동영상 스트리밍 서비스입니다. 본 포지션은 쿠팡 플레이 사업 전반과 관련하여 모든 법률 측면의 지원을 제공하며, 특히 오리지널 콘텐츠 제작, 콘텐츠 라이선싱, 스포츠 및 생중계 행사, 프로덕트 및 앱 개발, 운영, 기술, 퍼포먼스 마케팅 및 각종 관련 법령 및 규제 컴플라이언스 업무를 주로 담당하게 됩니다. 쿠팡의 목표 달성을 위한 여정에 동참하여 함께 나아가실 열정적인 인재를 찾습니다.



  • Coupang Play’s content initiatives: You will provide all aspects of legal support for deals for Coupang Play’s content initiatives. This will include structuring, drafting, and negotiating contracts for licensed content, original productions (scripted and non-scripted), sports rights, and live events. You will partner with our Coupang Play teams, including the content acquisition and operations teams, to provide tactical and strategic advice, including in relation to business models and deal structures. You will have strong and hands-on experience working in the entertainment and media industry, dealing with Korean and multinational media companies, studios, production companies, sports leagues, news publishers, and relevant guilds and unions.
  • Legal advisory, contractual, and commercial arrangements: You will provide support and execute as an all-around legal advisor for the Coupang Play teams on: (1) other contractual and commercial arrangements that are often implemented alongside content initiatives. This may include Terms of Use, supply agreements, and services/technical assistance agreements, (2) product and app development to continuously enhance the Coupang Play customer experience, and (3) associated marketing and PR activities.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: You will partner and work collaboratively with internal business partners across Coupang, including other Coupang legal teams, Finance, Security and Privacy, Technology, and Public Relations to continue to build and enhance legal and regulatory compliance. You will also lead and manage outside counsel retained to provide legal services.

  • 쿠팡플레이 콘텐츠 이니셔티브 관련 업무 : 쿠팡플레이의 콘텐츠 이니셔티브와 관련하여 진행되는 거래와 연관된 모든 법률 측면의 지원을 제공합니다. 라이선스 콘텐츠, (스크립트논 스크립트) 오리지널 제작물, 스포츠 행사 중계권 및 생중계 행사 관련 계약서의 구성, 초안 작성 및 협상 업무가 이에 포함됩니다. 또한 콘텐츠 매입팀, 운영팀을 포함한 쿠팡플레이의 여러 팀들과 협업하면서 비즈니스 모델, 거래 구조 등과 관련한 기술적·전략적 자문을 제공합니다. 각종 국내 및 다국적 미디어 기업과 스튜디오, 제작사, 스포츠 리그, 언론사, 유관 협회 및 조합 등과 업무를 진행하며 엔터테인먼트 및 미디어 산업에서 풍부한 실무 경험을 쌓으실 수 있습니다.
  • 법률 자문 , 계약 상업 조건 협의 : 여러 쿠팡플레이 팀들의 올어라운더(all-arounder) 법률 고문으로서 다음 사항을 지원하고 실행합니다. (1) 이용약관, 공급협약, 서비스·기술 지원 계약 등 콘텐츠 이니셔티브 진행 시 수반되는 기타 상업 및 계약 관련 조율 및 협의 (2) 쿠팡플레이 고객 경험의 지속적 개선을 위한 프로덕트 및 앱 개발 (3) 관련 마케팅 및 홍보 활동
  • 조직간 협업 : 법령 및 규제 관련 컴플라이언스의 구축 및 지속적인 개선을 위해 타 쿠팡 법무팀, 재무팀, 보안 및 개인정보보호 담당팀, 기술팀, PR팀 등 여러 내부 비즈니스 파트너들과 협업을 진행합니다. 또한, 법률 자문 서비스를 제공하는 외부 로펌들을 지휘하고 관리 감독합니다.



  • Qualified attorney in Korea, U.S., or common law jurisdiction (e.g. England, Singapore, Australia).
  • At least 10+ years post-qualification legal experience. A mixture of law firm and in-house experience is preferred.
  • Fluency in Korean and English.
  • Strong and hands-on background working in the entertainment and media industry, ideally including knowledge, understanding, and interest in the streaming and content industries in Korea.
  • Exceptional ability to consistently deliver creative, thoughtful, and business-oriented results that appropriately balance growth and risk in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
  • A willingness to learn voraciously and take on new scope and challenges.
  • Strong and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Sound judgement in developing and implementing legal solutions.


자격사항 :

  • 한국, 미국 또는 기타 보통법 관할 지역(예- 영국, 싱가포르, 호주 등) 내 공인 변호사
  • 자격 취득 후 법무 경력 10년 이상. 로펌 및 인하우스 모두에서 근무한 이력이 있는 자 선호
  • 한국어 및 영어 능통자
  • 엔터테인먼트 및 미디어 산업 관련 풍부한 실무 이력. 국내 스트리밍 및 콘텐츠 산업에 대한 지식 및 이해도, 관심있는 자 선호
  • 빠른 속도로 진행되는, 압박이 큰 환경에서도 성장과 리스크의 적절한 균형을 찾아 창의적이고 세심하며 비즈니스 중심적 결과를 지속적으로 도출해 낼 수 있는 탁월한 역량을 갖춘 자
  • 적극적인 학습 의지를 가지고 있으며 새로운 역할 업무와 도전에 적극적인 자
  • 우수하고 효과적인 커뮤니케이션 역량을 가진 자(구두 및 서면 모두)
