Job Overview:

In this role, you will be the main driving force behind one of Coupang’s largest technical organization

strategic projects and technical initiatives that involve multiple different domain teams and organizations across the company. You will need to align the project and initiative objectives with the company’s long term strategy, to create a tangible plan based on consensus with all stakeholders, and to execute the plan per its milestones and objectives. You will be exposed to various tech and business leaders depending on the projects and initiatives you are assigned to.

Key Responsibilities:  

On time delivery of quarterly technical initiatives

  • Owns small to medium scale projects involving selected organization
  • Manages the projects throughout their lifecycles from feasibility review to commercial launch.
  • Be able to adapt the changes reflecting the rapid changing business environment during the project lifecycle.
  • Maintains healthy resource utilization at any given moment during project lifecycle
  • Provides continuous oversight to keep project team and stakeholders aligned with project goals and objectives.
  • Develops and own communication plans to effectively and proactively communicate program status, issues, and risks to stakeholders.

On time delivery of company wide programs

  • Owns medium to large scale technical programs involving multiple organizations across company
  • Determines the program goals and its objectives based on the company’s long term strategy
  • Creates complex plans blessed by all stake holders across the company.
  • Leads multi organizational product team to execute the plans
  • Manages cross functional dependencies, risks and changes effectively by optimizing scope, schedule and resource accordingly.
  • Develops and own communication plans to effectively and proactively communicate program status, issues, and risks to stakeholders.

Platform and process enhancement

  • Identifies and recommends improvements to the way projects are scoped, built, tested, and deployed across the company.
  • Supports critical relationships and negotiations of agreements with customers, suppliers, or other external partners.
  • Develops new programs to support the strategic direction of the organization
  • Creates and manage long-term goals of the organization
  • Prioritizes programs and activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the organization
  • Acts as an internal accelerator across multiple organization to help implementation of new programs
  • Defines metrics to measure the efficacy of internal resources and lead teams to improve metrics by making modification to current processes
  • Uses data to inform system needs and prioritize system requirements


  • One who has at least 6+ years of relevant program management/business development experience
  • One who has a thorough command of the technology/systems that will be utilized in achieving the project goals.
  • One who has broad experience, across functional and technical areas, designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining large scale projects and programs.
  • One who expertly skilled at gathering functional requirements and converting those into a realistic, detailed functional spec and project plan.
  • One who has played a leadership role for several complete product cycles. Sets the standard for effective program management.
  • One who brings a department and company-wide perspective to decision making. Strong business acumen (understands how to calculate high-level ROI and partner with finance to complete a cost-benefit analysis).
  • One who can properly prioritize competing projects and programs across departments and able to meet tight deadlines.
  • One who experience in challenging problem solving, deep diving into an issue, identifying root-causes and suggesting realistic solutions.
  • One who has high standards and a bias toward action.
  • One who has expert communication and interpersonal skills, must be able to run meetings and work streams with senior leadership across the company.
  • One who has excellent skills in Microsoft Excel and Power Point
  • One who has BA/BS degree
