Job Overview:

The position will be a highly strategic finance role working in close partnership with retail business leaders, product & technology teams, and operations functions. In this role you will required to develop and execute the operating plan required to achieve strategic goals, drive decisions and track performance on inventory loss due to aging, expiry, and damages by conducting financial analysis, maintaining DB tables, and influencing pricing strategy.

The role will be the single threaded owner for Coupang’s companywide objective to improve inventory health and act as a primary liaison between the data engineering, accounting, and pricing team to facilitate our planning process, business updates, and reporting deliverables.

What you will do:

  • Dive deep on Coupang end-to-end Inventory management  to forecast inventory loss with your modeling whenever unforeseeable issues arise.
  • Define key KPIs and identify opportunities for improvement through predictive analysis to grasp target progress in real time and take timely actions
  • Provide company-wide perspective to reduce aging SKU’s and help improve inventory health.
  • Forecast, track and update category analysis and modeling, and call out the variances, identify root causes and come up with business solutions
  • Establish Instock business strategies by extracting and processing data and ultimately support each domain and C-level leaders to solve urgent and crucial issues
  • Contribute to automatic report generation using business intelligence tools, to be utilized as part of a continuous efficiency improvement program; improve and maintain the existing dashboards.
  • Planning, monitoring and advising business from finance perspectives, including annual/long-term forecasting to weekly/monthly/quarterly reviews, bringing total transparency to key stakeholders
  • Perform root cause analysis; defining analytical framework, retrieving right data, working with data owners and driving insights for pricing and merchandising activities

Basic Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience data analysis in a fast-paced tech-oriented organization. 
  • High level of process orientation and attention to detail.
  • Experience in leading and developing new financial processes, models and tools.  
  • Excellent storytelling skills and ability to partner with non-tech/non-finance
  • Strong SQL and Excel skills; familiar with establishing and managing KPIs.
  • Strong analytical thinking; be able to start with problem statement, ask 5Ys and arrive at data backed solutions
  • Ability to gather, analyze, and organize large amounts of data and provide insight/recommendations
  • Highly analytical, detail oriented and strong business sense
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines, prioritize workload and achieve effective results in fast-paced and dynamic environment; effective multi-tasking skills are vital

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Direct experience in eCommerce, Retail or Operations will be a plus but not necessary
  • English communication, written and verbal; Korean proficiency will be a plus!
  • Python, R, or SAS experience
  • Experience in producing reports in Tableau and PowerBI
  • Data, Engineering, Accounting, or a Business postgraduate degree
