Team Description

Coupang’s Global department is seeking a dynamic and motivated Principal Global Biz Marketing Specialist. This person must be entrepreneurial by nature with responsibility for contributing to a positive customer experience on Coupang’s global marketing as a part of a fun, diverse, and global-experienced team. The individual will also work across a matrix organization internally with cross-functional teams as well as external network. The primary goal of this role is to help Coupang’s global team to improve its global selection that our customers want and drives increased loyalty.


Key Responsibilities

  • Begins everyday Obsessing over Customer Experience. Starts with customer focused objectives and works backwards. Builds solutions to address and Wow our Customers
  • Plan and Execute marketing activities per merchandising calendar for global business (i.e. Halloween, Black Friday, Single’s day) while continue to streamline marketing SOP; Marketing activities include various on/offsite marketing such as global selection exposed to Coupang’s gateway promotion or flash deals, CRM or Live marketing, etc.
  • Develop new marketing ideas to increase customers’ royalty on Coupang’s global selection through utilization of internal/external data on customers and market
  • Provide impactful selection suggestions to global business teams through both quantitative and qualitative researc


Essential Qualifications

  • 6-10 yrs of relevant work experience in business marketing/merchandising role
  • Ability to speak and write in English & Korean in a fluent and concise way(Chinese is a plus.)
  • Deep understanding and familiarity of eCommerce marketing layouts and logics
  • Experiences of leading projects with cross-functional teams to develop marketing campaign
  • Proficiency with Excel and extracting data through varied reporting tools (i.e. SQL, Tableau)


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in working in eCommerce, retail business or global brands
  • Bachelor's degree majored in business, finance, analytical or related majors. (mathematics, engineering, statistics, economics, marketing etc.)
  • Ability to prioritize work in a complex, fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders
  • High standards and a bias toward action
  • Always ensures business goals and plans are in line with “Wowing the Customer.” Never sacrifices customer experience for short-term goal
  • Is able to conceive new ideas and experimentations for consideration. Understands the difference between 1-way and 2-way doors
