Responsibilities:
· Oversee the development, implementation and maintenance of Trade Compliance processes for Coupang businesses teams while focusing on risk, process improvement, reduction of execution costs and increased efficiencies for Coupang Operations in China.
· Builds strategic partnerships with and influences key business unit leaders by researching and building expertise on trade compliance opportunities and risk to facilitate the various import models Coupang employs.
· Use a thorough understanding of Trade Compliance laws, regulations and practices to build businesses cases to drive compliance efficiencies while driving daily operations related to Trade Operations in China.
· Ensure Trade Compliance operations are supported by proper due diligence and risk analysis.
· Partner with the local Customs Broker(s) to facilitate the supply chain for Coupang export operations.
· Develop and implement relevant metrics to measure Trade Compliance effectiveness and progress
· Have a thorough understanding of China export schemes driving Harmonized Codes and Valuation accuracy across Coupang’s various operational channels.
Qualifications:
· Minimum 5-8 years of experience in international trade and logistics;
· Background in legal, compliance, regulatory, business management, and/or consulting;
· In-depth understanding of China Customs Regulations/Laws,
· Skills to effectively communicate complex legal and regulatory rules to managers at all levels;
· Creative thinker, ability to streamline processes, implement changes that foster higher efficiencies while meeting expectations of our internal and external stakeholders;
· High ethical standards of integrity, transparency and trust;
· Detail oriented.
Preferred Qualifications:
· China Trade Compliance (Import/Export) expertise;
· English communication and writing skills;
· Self-starter, ambitious and flexible;
· Excellent communication skills;
· International experience an asset.
