Role Overview:
The Retail Program Management team delivers critical projects and develops and implements innovative business programs to wow our customers. We maintain a holistic view of the Retail business, cultivating ideas for new services and offerings and partnering with cross-functional stakeholders across the company to bring ideas to life. We touch all areas of the business as projects/program span the spectrum of Retail operations. We are data and delivery obsessed and are never settled with the status quo. We’re business leaders…and experts in project and program management who tailor project processes to deliver the most value as quickly as possible. As Director, Program Management you will be responsible for initiating, planning, and delivering impactful projects and programs that improve Coupang’s Retail offerings. You will be responsible for coming up with creative solutions to the most challenging business problems and leveraging your project management expertise to make the difficult look easy. You work closely with and can seamlessly influence executive leaders and product/operations teams.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role you will initiate, plan, and deliver projects that:
- Accelerate key inputs of selection, pricing, and convenience
- Improve the operational excellence and efficiency of Retail teams
- Enhance both customer and vendor/supplier experience
You will also leverage metrics, analytics and dashboards to:
- Understand business opportunities and blind spots and require invention
- Ensure that we’re building the right solutions that solve the right problems
- Validate that the project/program you deliver are performing as intended
Lead a high performing team:
- Build and motivate a team to achieve your goals and objectives
- Develop leaders and create a culture that attracts and retains talent
Basic Qualifications:
- Extensive experience and demonstrated success in project/program management and business management.
- Deep knowledge of and experience in Retail operations.
- Strong problem-solving mindset and logical data-driven thinking.
- Deep-dive and process-driven skillsets.
- Experience in working in a startup environment (quick decision making, fast scale up).
- Ability to collaborate and align strategy with leadership while driving execution efficiency.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and achieve effective results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment; effective multi-tasking skills are vital.
- Ability to balance strategy with strong operational skills.
- Able to understand, deconstruct, streamline and optimize complex business processes.
- Education in technical discipline / MBA preferred.
- Project management certification preferred.

Document Return Policy
- This notification is given pursuant to Article 11 (6) of the Fair Hiring Procedure Act.
- A job applicant, who has applied but not been finally selected for a position at Coupang(the “Company”), may request the Company to return his/her hiring documents submitted pursuant to the Fair Hiring Procedure Act. However, this will not apply where the hiring documents were submitted via the website of the Company or e-mail, or where the job applicant submitted those documents voluntarily without a request from the Company. In addition, if the hiring documents were destroyed due to a natural disaster or any other reasons not attributable to the Company, such documents will be deemed to have been returned to the job applicant.
- A job applicant who wishes to request the return of his/her hiring documents pursuant to the main sentence of paragraph 2 above should fill out a “Request for Return of Hiring Documents” [Annex Form No. 3 in the Enforcement Rule of the Fair Hiring Procedure Act] and submit the request to the Company (Coupang Recruiting Team, Tower 730, 570 Songpa-daero, Songpa-gu, Seoul). In such case, within fourteen (14) days from the date of identifying the receipt of the request, the Company will send the hiring documents to the job applicant’s designated address via registered mail. Please be informed that the job applicant is required to pay the postage on the registered mail.
- In preparation for a job applicant’s request for the return of hiring documents pursuant to the main sentence of paragraph 2 above, the Company shall retain the original hiring documents submitted by the job applicant for 180 days from the completion of the recruiting process. If no request is made until the end of this period, all of his/her hiring documents will be destroyed immediately in accordance with the Personal Information Protection
- Act.Hiring may be restricted in case the legal qualifications required for hiring and work performance are not met.
